Kelsey joined Wallace Center in 2015 and is a Project Manager with the Resilient Agriculture & Ecosystems team. Her passion for agriculture and local food systems grew out of her upbringing in the rural Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where the correlation of a vibrant food economy and community health and wellbeing was evident. After earning her dual BA in Environmental Studies and Peace and Conflict Studies, Kelsey worked on diversified farming operations and, later, for a specialty food store where she coordinated with farmers and regional purveyors to market locally sourced food.
Kelsey is based in Charlottesville, VA, where you will most likely find her on the river or the hiking trail foraging for wild berries.
