November 10, 2025 — After nearly nine years at the Wallace Center at Winrock International, Pete Huff will be departing at the end of this month to take on a new role as the Regional Coordinator of North Central SARE, based at the University of Minnesota.
“The Wallace Center has steadily built a human-centered, strategic, and collaborative culture that radiates through our projects and partnerships,” Pete said. “I’m deeply honored to have contributed to that and look forward to seeing the Center’s work continue to grow.”
Pete began his role at the Wallace Center as a Program Officer in 2017 where he oversaw agriculture initiatives within the Pasture Project. This initiative works to advance regenerative grazing and grass-fed value chains in the Upper Midwest as a scalable, market-driven solution for farmers and rural communities, bringing millions of dollars to the region and supporting a diverse group of partners. Throughout his time at the Wallace Center, Pete’s role and leadership grew from Program Officer to Associate Director, Co-Director, and Director of Wallace Center in early 2025.

At the Wallace Center, Pete worked with colleagues across Winrock to expand programs, strengthen systems, and build partnerships with farmers, businesses, nonprofits, and Tribal organizations. A major highlight was securing a $3M EPA grant supporting farmer-led groups improving water quality and leadership in underserved Mississippi River Basin communities. He also co-led two strategic plans, the latest released in 2025. Above all, Pete fostered a collaborative, values-driven team advancing the Wallace Center’s regenerative food systems legacy.
“Pete’s thoughtfulness, strategic vision, and accountability to partners in centering their voices into program design and strategy has changed how Wallace Center and Winrock approach agriculture projects in the U.S.,” said Lucy Jodlowska, Sr. Director, U.S. Programs.

We’re grateful for Pete’s leadership and his many contributions to the Wallace Center and Winrock. We will miss him and wish him the very best in his endeavors.
The Wallace Center will start recruiting its new Director in early 2026. For any questions, please email Lucy Jodlowska.
