John has over 25 years of experience in food systems development and sustainable agriculture with training and application in research, program design, project management, philanthropy and evaluation. He is currently president of Bluestem Food Systems Consulting where he is helping communities advance efforts in food access and health, regional food value chain development, and resilience in the face of climate change.

John is the former Director of the Wallace Center at Winrock International.
